Dare to Submit by Carly Phillips

*Received this book from NetGalley for my honest review**

4/5 Stars

Here is the synopsis per Goodreads:
Decklan Dare knows about the unexpected loss of loved ones and for this reason, he values control in all areas of his life. Amanda Collins enjoys the freedom she finds in casual encounters without the emotional connection a relationship brings. They meet and their physical attraction is mutual but both experience feelings that could run deeper – if they drop their guard and let each other in. Decklan is first to trust, but when he discovers the secret Amanda’s been hiding, will he forgive? Or will he rebuild every wall before she has a chance to explain?

I wasn't sure for a what to rate this, I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, finally settling on 4.  I wish netgalley would tell me what books are in a series and what books aren't.  this apparently is like 4 or 5 maybe in a Dare series, which I actually haven't read anything of.  You can read this one as a standalone though.

Let's see, where to start.  Ok the BDSM stuff, it started off right, in a club, with a dom and a sub, and safe words and things like that, but I didn't really find the book all that BDSM'y.  It quickly turned into a romance and love and stuff, the main character even talked about negotiations with past partners, but never even talked about anything with Decklan.  As for the big secret that was gone on and on about, it wasn't this huge thing and in the end after it comes out im just like..okay? it wasn't that life shattering.

Aside from that, I thought it was a pretty good read, kinda on the short side, but didn't feel untastefully rushed.
